Gerri Robinson shares about "Anna"

Our good friend Gerri Robinson of Planted Seed Designs has a fresh, new, colorful collection out called Anna! We love its sweetness, warmth, and fun. Gerri shares about designing it and ideas for projects using Anna.

Our "Anna"
I was thrilled and honored when asked by Kimberly if I would share with you my latest fabric collection, “Anna.”

“Anna” is happy, fun, playful, full of personality and possibilities. These could be descriptions to describe an Anna in your life, but our Anna is our newest fabric collection by Planted Seed Designs. “Anna” was designed as an extension of our first fabric collection “Garden Party.”

“Anna” is a 26 piece, sorbet-colored collection of stripes, plaid, checks and prints designed for quilts, clothing and home decor. It debuted at the International Quilt Market in Houston at the end of October and was received with great success. We were awarded 1st place in the double booth category!

Our Philosphy
My approach when I sit down to design a collection is “let the fabric do the work.” Let it play, have fun, and at the same time allow it to stand alone to be the focal point.

What's In the Works
“Simply Anna” and “Simply Delightful” are 2 patterns currently in the works and will be available soon. “Simply Anna” is made from 2 fabrics. Fabric 904-1 is used for the center panel and border of the quilt and Fabric 906-1 is used for the corner stones and binding. The floral swag gives the quilt the illusion of a scalloped border without all the work!

“Simply Delightful,” though a bit more involved than “Simply Anna,” is just as simple and delightful. Five fabrics, simple piecing and a stand out print (900-2) showcase its floral swag, offering movement to the quilt in the inner sashing and outer border. Doesn’t it look like “faux” appliqué?

Both designs are available in several color ways to mix and match for your home’s décor.

We’re currently working on an exclusive design, made from “Anna”, for the Fat Quarter Shop. Stay tuned, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve enjoyed sharing my thoughts and ideas with you, and I hope you’ve found inspiration in the fabric, designs and pictures, to create your own little piece of “Anna”.

All my best,

Gerri Robinson
