At long last, after much preparation for this club, I Believe in Angels is ready to go out the door! We are shipping it on Monday, so for everyone who signed up, thank you for your patience and expect it soon! Unfortunately, membership is filled for this BOM, as most of our popular ones do run out of spots quickly (but there are plenty of other BOMs to sign up for). But for today, Anne gives us her memoir of this beautiful angel quilt to commemorate the occasion.
No one does packaging better than Fat Quarter Shop and if you signed up for the “I Believe In Angels” block of the month you’re in for a treat! They even include the embellishment kit! I can’t wait for you to get your first block and I hope you’ll get started right away. I’ll share a little story about that first block…the model for that little angel kneeling at the bottom of the tree was my assistant Nireko! Yes, that’s right; she had to kneel on the floor, with fabric draped around her to look like a dress. Just so I could see how the feet and legs should look so I could draw them!
I had my own little group of angels to keep me company while I designed this quilt. Bitsy, Chelsea and my old cat Max were always by my side. Chelsea always knows when I need a break and she never hesitates to remind me.
Next week, we're going to show another BOM quilt that's finally wrapping up! We love it. So keep watch :) In the meantime...it's been a while since we posted a Watch-Emma-Grow picture. She's becoming quite the fashionista.Labels: Guest Quilting Writers, Quilt Clubs
