We are happy to have Moda's newest designer on our blog today! Yep, another name to keep track of! Lila Tueller's first fabric line for Moda, Woodland Bloom, debuts in September. A soft pink, cerulean blue, and olive green serve as bases for a fun assortment of funky floral prints. Can't wait for September arrive? Neither can we...but, in the meantime, Lila has a few clothing and accessory patterns out to whet our appetite! And Fat Quarter Shop has an apron kit set for the line! What else would you make from Woodland Bloom?

Hello everyone!

I am really excited to be invited to write a little post about my new patterns !

I have had a great time developing patterns, although it wasn’t something I really planned on doing. After creating my first line of fabrics, I was asked to begin a line of patterns as well. I am new to this particular quilting industry, but I am not new to using patterns or to sewing. I have been sewing almost daily for many years...since I was about twelve. So I have a great love of fabric and design, as do many of you who will be reading this!

I decided to create some of the designs I have done for some time and develop them into patterns for the sewing consumers out there. I know you are always looking for something new to make, as I am, so I hope you will enjoy making these designs either for yourself or as a gift to bestow upon someone else!

The Funked Out Blouse pattern was a natural, because it was a pattern I made up for myself, and then for my sisters and friends, and lots of people I met at Costco, or the mall, or restaurants. Everywhere I went while wearing this top, I was stopped and asked where I got it. So it seemed a perfect choice as one of my first patterns.

The Bohemian Bag was another easy choice, because I had made and sold this bag many times over the internet, and through word of mouth. I think I can now sew this one blindfolded and with my hands tied behind my back! (O.K. maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but you get what I mean.)

I hope you’ll enjoy the Funked Out Apron too! It’s a cute little take on a sundress, and a lot of fun to put together. You may even end up at the supermarket wearing it, because it feels so polished.

Anyway, that’s it, and I hope I didn’t bore you all to tears! Have fun with all that creative energy you have, and do what you love!

Thanks again for letting me introduce myself and my patterns!

Happy Sewing!
