We have been charmed by Charm Bracelet. It's been flying off our store shelves since its debut, so we know you're enjoying it too! Allison Jane Smith, the talent behind Plaids and Prints, talks about her inspiration for her latest collection and a few ideas for Charm Bracelet projects!
Hi! My name is Allison Jane Smith, and my company is Plaids and Prints. I am excited to talk about my new fabric line with Windham Fabrics, called Charm Bracelet.
Charm Bracelet is a fresh line of fabrics that features whimsical blooms, simplistic geometrics, and an adorable little bird print. The vibrant spring shades are set off with a surprise of deep chocolate, enriching the overall charm found in the line. The enchanting designs, paired with trendy colors, offer a warm, modern feel.
These fabrics would be adorable in a baby girl’s nursery, but I also think they are pretty enough to work in any room of your home. I created a “free project” for the Windham Fabrics website, called Sweet Birdie. Click here to check it out! You could definitely make it out of a fat quarter bundle (which is available on the Fat Quarter Shop website!).
I have a quilt made out of the fabric line in my new book, Baby Love, which will be out this fall. And look for another quilt of mine made with Charm Bracelet in an upcoming issue of Quilts and More magazine.
I love creating, and I love quilting! I always strive to create a combination of modern sophistication and old-fashioned flair. The inspiration behind my designs is the simple love of mixing different patterns, colors, and textures to coordinate into beautiful quilts.
