New Kits for Fall!

We have been practically inundated these past few weeks with new collections. Not just little ones, but the XXXL-cornucopia-of-pieces kind. Recess, Woodland Bloom, Fig & Plum, Daisy Chain, Charisma....WHEW!!! With all the room that these pieces take up on our What's New page, some awesome new Kits get pushed out of the limelight. Well, no longer! We're using today's post to introduce some of these lovelies.

Now, you know we love Cotton Blossoms. We kitted Feels Like Home Table Runner, Bonnie Olaveson's Cottonway pattern; we saw right off the bat that it would be stunning. Case in point, Debbie made this sample, we shot the photo in Kimberly's dining room, and Kimberly wound up keeping it!

We also wanted to do a duo kit to reflect the duality of Bonnie and Camille's individual colorways. We paired them with a Jelly Roll quilt pattern, and came up with Mother's Cotton Patch and Daughter's Cotton Patch Quilt Kits. We are super pleased with the results, and rightly so! I think they feel really rustic but still adorable! You can find all of these kits on the top of the Cotton Blossoms page.

We're also excited about our new Cars-Go-Round Quilt Kit, made with the Vroom collection from Avlyn. We've heard your calls for more boyish quilts, and happily we oblige! Brightly colored and speckled with little cars, it's simple, fast and fun. Definitely a quilt any boy (or girl!) will adore--until they get to be sixteen and can drive the real thing...but that's another day!

If you've been looking for a nicer way to lug around your laptop, the Louisa Laptop Bag, made from the Louisa line by Terry Thompson, is a nice option. It's feminine but not too cutesy, and it's roomy enough for any size computer companion. We know Louisa May Alcott, the namesake of the collection, didn't have a laptop, but we wholeheartedly believe that if she had had one, she would have carried it in this bag. Seriously.

Woodland Bloom, Lila Tueller's debut collection for Moda, packs some serious fun with the funky florals and surprising palette. We harvested some of that fun into this full-skirted Woodland Pixie Patch Apron Kit! And yay, it even has pockets! I wanna say...it's like sticking Lucille Ball in the seventies, LOL! I'm sworn to secrecy on the identity of our model, but I want to publicly applaud her great modeling skills :)

Our previous post was from Me and My Sister Designs. They heart color, and they're not afraid to use it! From their Butterfly Fling collection, we've got four pretty kits--Baby Butterfly, Ice Cubes, Easy Bake, and Cake Walk. They sweetly showcase pinks, purples, yellows, aquas and limes, and they range in size from 19" square to 64" square because we understand that color-lovers come in all different sizes too!

Last but not least, American Primer by Minick & Simpson has just arrived! Cheryl made this majestic 70" x 77" quilt, called American Beauty, and wow--you have to see it in person. These intricate blocks really let the contrasting Americana tones shine. If you're not ready to commit to such a large-scale project, then the McGuffey Quilt Kit may be more your style. Smaller, at 31" square, but it's another winner from Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.

And if none of these projects strike your fancy, pick up any pattern you've been eyeing at Fat Quarter Shop. Now's a great time, because if you go to our site, you'll notice we have a little Fall Sale going on. Okay, so it's not THAT little...all of our books and patterns, along with plenty of our fabrics, are 10-50% off, so feel free to to go a little nuts!

I know, it's a lot of kits! But believe it or not, we've got plenty more to reveal in the coming weeks...are you ready??
