BOM: Aunt Grace Circle of Friends

Everyone’s buzzing about the new Aunt Grace Circle of Friends Block of the Month! Judie Rothermel’s newest collection is featured in this wonderful collaboration of friendship and design –the extraordinary pattern was designed by Vicki Bellino. This dynamic duo offers a quilt that is sure to excite everyone, whether your passion is traditional appliqué, sampler quilts or 1930’s reproduction prints! The interest in ‘30s reproduction fabrics seems to be growing – many of us remember seeing these fabrics in grandma’s house, some of us may have used the original fabrics ourselves and many of us simply love the colors in these great prints! Pinks, yellows, greens, lavenders, blues, reds – every single one makes us happy!

A large Dresden Plate block fills the center of the quilt, with four basket blocks and four sampler blocks surrounding it. Four lovely little Dresden flowers are added for an extra delicate touch! The pattern includes instructions and both large and mini paper pieces for the English paper piecing technique, used for the Dresden pieces. Then comes this eye catching border full of breezy little pinwheels and square in a square blocks. A Grace doll is featured in each corner of the pinwheel border for added interest. Finally, a wide outer border completes the quilt and perfectly frames the center.
