Helping Haiti: The Auction Winners...
Thanks to Joanna Figueroa, Stephanie Dunphy, Laurie Simpson, Pam Buda, Anne Sutton, Lissa Alexander, Barbara Jones, Bari J., Genevieve Gail, Barb & Mary, the Fat Quarter Shop girls, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, Henry Glass Fabrics, Denise Sheehan, Mary Cowan, and Happy Zombie for your quilt/craft donations! And thanks to American Patchwork & Quilting and everyone else who helped us get the word out! We didn't solicit ANYONE for ANYTHING -- they all contacted us individually and offered to donate after we had already announced the auction. Awesome.
And thank you all for participating with your comments & bids, for your willingness to use the financial resources you have, no matter the amount, to send desperately needed help & hope to Haiti. It is still their number one need for now, and we are moved that we can offer anything at all.

- World Vision (Brenda Riddle talks about them on her blog.)
- Red Cross (Please select Haiti Relief and Development when you donate)
- Heartline Ministries (Haiti Relief page), headquartered in Port Au Prince. They have now set up a medical clinic.

"I'm calling this 'The Fat Quarter Shop Miracle Auction'. The combined power of all of us can work a miracle. By joining together and giving, we can change a life or maybe hundreds of lives. When I heard about this auction I knew I wanted to help.
I've selected a quilt that I felt represented Bunny Hill. "The Bunny Run" was featured in Australian Homespun Magazine. “Flowers for Emma” is the featured fabric and it was designed by me. The winner of this quilt will receive the quilt, along with the magazine! I’m featured in the magazine so you’ll not only get the directions for the quilt, but the story too! The quilt is the perfect size to hang on a wall. Its 36" x 39", hand appliquéd and I'll even sign the back of the quilt if you’d like.
Let's all join the Fat Quarter Shop in this incredible auction! I've been watching the pictures on TV and with all the devastation, miracles are still happening. We can make a miracle happen too! - Anne Sutton"

Helping Haiti: Auction Item Dandelion Wishes Quilt
Dandelion Wishes Quilt
Quilt name: Dandelion Wishes
Finished size: 57" x 77"
"When I saw Jocelyn’s tweet, I knew right away that I wanted to join The Fat Quarter Shop with their timely and generous offer to help support Haiti in this devastating time. I wanted to donate something really special and I immediately thought about the awesome profile that American Patchwork & Quilting did on our business in Spring 2008. The quilt featured with that profile was called 'Dandelion Wishes' and it was one of our all time best selling kits! The quilt measures 57" x 77" and uses exclusively the Dandelion Girl collection by Fig Tree & Co. It has a pieced background and some simple appliqued flowers strewn around the top. Designed by Joanna Figueroa, pieced by Wilma Lawrence and Joanna Figueroa and quilted by Diana Johnson.
As you think about whether or not you are able to bid, please remember that you will receive a timeless quilt and a few more people in Haiti will receive medical aid and food. Not to sound preachy, but really, how can we not give, given all that we have? An auction just makes it that much more fun. Happy Bidding, Joanna."
Donated by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts. (Thanks Joanna!)
