Today we have a very special guest who just came out with ten new (extremely hot) patterns now available at Fat Quarter Shop. So hot in fact we had to reorder them a week after we received them! Luckily they shipped super fast so we are all stocked up again as of today! Anywho, this new diva you might have heard over on the blog Cluck. Cluck. Sew. Well now she is expanding her voice here at Fat Quarter Shop.
My name is Allison Harris and currently I live in Eastern Idaho with my husband and two small boys. I grew up sewing a little, but making quilts never crossed my mind until a few years ago when I caught the quilting bug. About the same time, I started writing and posting my projects to a blog called Cluck. Cluck. Sew. I started by mainly sharing quilting tutorials, and then tutorials slowly became patterns, and now writing patterns has become something I truly love to do.
I try to write patterns that are simple, easy to follow, and won't leave a beginning quilter frustrated and discouraged.
As a young Mom I know that time is precious, and its nice to have a quick quilt project that will give me a sense of accomplishment in my day amongst the housework and diapers. So when I'm writing patterns and choosing which projects to publish, I try to think of what I would want to sew...and cross my fingers somebody else will want to sew it too!
I've had an amazing opportunity to receive feedback from my blog readers, and I'm so thankful for the support and encouragement they give me. Some days definitely feel like a balancing act, but its a balancing act I love and I hope that I can continue to find balance between the things I love....and quilting is definitely one of them!
- Allison
And now guess what it's time for....!? You guessed it, it is time for a giveaway! Today it will be 5 Cluck. Cluck. Sew patterns of the winners choice (you can find all 10 of them here). To enter comment on this post telling me which 5 patterns you would like. Then choose one of those patterns and tell me which line of fabric you would make with that pattern besides the one it shows in the picture.
Contest will close Wednesday, February 2nd. Good luck!
