Notion of the Month: Perfect Circles

We all love quilting notions that make our lives easier! The Fat Quarter Shop has teamed up with your favorite designers to present you with our Notion of the Month. Once a month a designer will feature a tutorial using their favorite notion. And each Notion of the Month will be 20% OFF all month long!

Our first Notion of the Month is presented by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. My kids call her the Bunny Lady!

When Kimberly asked me what my favorite notion was I didn’t even have to think about it…Perfect Circles by Karen Buckley are at the top of my list! I LOVE them! If you love appliqué these are a “must have” notion. You’ll be able to make a perfect circle every time in just a few easy steps! The package includes lots of different sizes and directions are included with the package. Just to show you how easy they are to use I’ll make one for you out of my new fabric Puttin’ on the Ritz!

Trace around the circle with a pencil and cut out about ¼” away from traced line.

Double thread a needle and knot end of thread. Sew a running stitch in-between traced line and cut edge.

Insert Perfect Circle template and pull thread tight.

Paint edge with fabric sizing or Best Press. Press with iron for a few minutes making sure the sizing is dry.

Remove circle template, turn over and you’ve got a perfect circle ready for appliqué!

I promise you’ll get lots of compliments on your appliqué circles. Perfect Circles are my notion of choice!

Hugs,
Anne
