Designer Tidbits: Richard Neuman

The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Richard Neuman to the Jolly Jabber. Richard’s latest fabric collection is Choo Choo You from Clothworks Fabrics.

Q: What was the first seed that grew into the Choo Choo You collection?
A: I grew up in a small railroad town in the midwest through which passed 200 trains each day. I learned the alphabet seeing letters on the sides of train cars. From the smell of coal smoke to the sounds of train whistles fading into the distance on a summer's night, trains are ingrained in my heart and soul. One might say I have always been a "Choo Choo You"!

Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe this collection?
A:
1. fun
2. detailed
3. colorful

Q: What single print/SKU in the collection is your favorite (can only pick one!)?
A: Creating this railroad layout was an opportunity to revisit many fond memories of my boyhood days when my brothers and I worked on and played with the train layout in our basement.

Q: What is your dream project using this collection?
A: As a adult what fun to decorate a train room with pillows, curtains and table skirting with prints from this collection. Revisit my childhood and snuggle in to bed on a cold winter night under a quilt of these train images.
