The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Ellen Crimi-Trent to the Jolly Jabber. Ellen’s latest fabric collection is Critters from Clothworks.
Q: What was the first seed that grew into the Critters collection?
A: The Critters collection was an extension of the popular Beetle Boy fabric but with uses for girls as well as boys. I have a love of all kinds of critters and animals as you can see from my other collections and nothing is more fun than those summer critters.
Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe this collection?
3. versatile- whereas you can make something geared towards girls as well as boys depending on how you use the collection.
Q: What single print/SKU in the collection is your favorite (can only pick one!)?
A: My favorite pattern is the allover frog pond print in green. I had created this image awhile ago and thought it would look so great in a fabric collection- so there you go. I also sell a print of this image that goes with the collection on my Etsy shop.
Q: What is your dream project using this collection?
A: My dream project with this collection....... humm there are so many fun things that I would love to make but top on my list would be probably a cute pillow/blanket. You know those blankets that when folded turn into a pillow and on the front of the pillow I would do a fun applique' using the fabrics. If I had a girl instead of 2 boys I would love to make a dress, I am thinking my friends little girls would probably like one, so we shall see.
