2012 Designer Mystery Blog Hop: My Vintage Modern

Hello everyone! I know it’s Monday, but hopefully we can brighten your day with our first ever Designer Mystery Blog Hop. Yep, it’s time to really start rolling out the news about our latest Designer Mystery pretty! Luckily we have a bunch of awesome bloggers in the foray to share the fun with everyone, and they are none other than our 12 Designer Mystery designers.

For this blog hop, we are looking to our quilt for inspiration. Our quilt this year uses Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille, which has such a classic, retro, but also fresh vibe, which made these marvelous traditional sampler blocks! So, we’re asking our designers to give us a little peek into what is “vintage modern” to them.

We all have that thing in our closet – the thing that you procured years ago, the item you love and can never get rid of, no matter how many years or trends go by, or even if it still fits! It’s the one thing that is always classic in your eyes, and that’s the “vintage modern” thing we’re thinking about today. Maybe there’s a sentimental story to it, or maybe it’s just something you have an obsession for (we’re not judging!). Either way it says something about our style and personality.

So we’re going to get to know our designers a little bit more (when I say little, I mean little! You’ll see what I mean in a minute) via their “vintage modern” items. We asked them to dig through their closets (however scary that may sound to some of you) and find one of their vintage modern things.

HOW TO ENTER:
Every weekday for the next few weeks, one designer will post a tiny, close-up photo of their vintage modern item along with a clue on their blog. Post one guess of what you think that item is on each of the designers' blog posts in their comments section within 24 hours after they post. In the end, each post will have one winner selected from the correct answers.

At the end of the blog hop, we’ll meet back here, on the Jolly Jabber, for a grand prize guessing post. We will post ALL the winners (from all the blogs) and their prizes on the last day! Who knows what we’ll learn about our designers (and us) with one little vintage modern item!

Oh, and how could I forget the prizes! The prize for each designer’s blog hop post will be a Layer Cake of their most current collection – but the grand prize is a secret for now!

Sound easy enough? Here’s the schedule of our blog hop, so keep up with us, put on your thinking caps, and start hopping, starting with our good friend Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs tomorrow!

I've enjoyed the last few years of this wonderful hop and also have done several of the quilts. I especially enjoyed the Christmas one from a few years back...added all kinds of buttons and spark to it and it looked great on the wall this year!
