hi again jolly jabbers. rachel here from ps i quilt.
if y'all are like me, then you love stars.
i think that stars seem to fit well in both traditional & modern quilting.
take debonaire, for example.
at first glance, one would quickly assume that it's a very traditional quilt.
but if you just tweak your fabric choices . . .
you've got yourselves a very modern quilt.
i love it when designs/patterns can pull off a double life, don't y'all???
:)
let's have a little fun, shall we?!?!
we're going to give FIVE lucky peeps a debonaire pattern of their own.
to enter, go look at fat quarter shop's coming soon page.
pick two fabric lines, one traditional and one modern.
then come back here and leave a comment through rafflecopter telling us which lines you'd like your debonaire quilts to be.
i'll go first . . .
traditional: seaside by october afternoon
modern: flea market fancy by denyse schmidt
i'm excited to see all the different combinations y'all come up with.
rachel griffith
a Rafflecopter giveaway
Shop owners, Debonaire can be found at United Notions and Checkers as ISE-111.
Oh ya, one last thing. Don't forget to check out Sew4Home's blog for a chance to win a pack of five It's Sew Emma patterns!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 274 of 274 Newer› Newest»Abgail and Apple of My Eye ... wait, maybe those are both modern? I'm not very good with traditional
Modern: Gypsy Caravan Stash by Amy Butler
Traditional: Meadow by Blackbird Designs
I love Apple of my Eye and Seaside Cottage. Thanks for the giveaway chance!
It was so hard to pick! But if money were no object, I would pick Tempo Lime for a modern twist, and Women of Courage for the traditional view. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Rouenneries Deux for the traditional, love it! And Curious Nature by Parson Grey for the Modern, love it more!
Lucy's Crabshack and By the Sea. Thanks for the giveaway.
Hi y'all!
I would use Christmas Spirit by Holly Taylor for the traditional version and Summer Harvest by Hoffman for the modern version.
Thanks for the giveaway!!
Fresh Cut for traditional and Power Pop for a real modern take on a beautiful pattern! Would love to win as I'm getting up my courage to make my first quilt!
Traditional: Friendship by Moda (love that line.
Modern: FMF (same as you) by Denyse Schmidt.
What a selection in Coming Soon--after a bit of "debate", I'll choose Scarlet Holiday Serenade by Hoffman Fabrics (traditional)and California Girl by Fig Tree Quilts (modern). By the way, I didn't successfully use Rafflecopter to enter.
Wow that was difficult but so much fun- Fabric makes me happy!- now if you had said pick a favorite from each catergory- I still would have had troubles- I'll take one of each please! I did narrow it down to twoTradewinds by Lily Ashbury
and Ochre Penelope six
Traditional: Athill Range
Modern: Poetica
Very hard choices! Thanks for the giveaway and for the inspiration!
Traditional: California Girl by Fig Tree Quilts
Modern: Poetica by Pat Bravo
I love this quilt! I really like the "traditional" version, but I LOVELOVELOVE the modern version! Genius!
TraditionaL: Friendship Collections for a Cause
Modern: Reunion by Sweetwater for Moda or Domestic Bliss by Liz Scott for Moda, which are my current new line obsessions. :D
THAT WAS HARD! I was only half way through the fabrics and I had 8 or 9 choices. I narrowed it down to four......for modern I would use either Blitzen by Basic Grey or Floral Whimsy by Northcott. For traditional I would use Christmastime by Annie Downs or California Girl. Whew!
I would choose Penelope Four and Penelope Five for the Traditional Debonaire pattern.
And my favorite Flea Market Fancy for the Modern.
Thank you. Luba

I would love to see Poetica by Pat Bravo for the Modern and Lansdown Road by Robin Pandolph for the Traditional
Traditional: Aunt Grace Keepsakes or Urban cowgirl

My modern choice would be "Tempo Line" by Benartex

Modern: Tradewinds by Lily Ashbury
So many great fabrics!
Apple of my eye for modern.
Autumn Moon for traditional. So cute!
I like Sports Extreme with Copper Pot. I also like Shadow Leaves with Cooper Pot
Well I am in LOVE with the Rouenneries Deux line, so I'd probably use that one for the traditional; and All About Coffee for Modern (LOVE those prints and colors!!).
Cats, Bats, and Bones for the Modern and Barefoot Roses for a more traditional
Umm...I'm actually not quite sure if I really know the difference between traditional and modern. Because I was going to say that I love for my modern choice to be A Walk in the Woods and for my traditional I was going to say Flea Market Fancy. I have issues with traditional fabrics...sorry.
I also picked Abigail and Apple of my Eye, but if Abigail isn't traditional enough, i'd be easily persuaded to pick Tonya Whelan's Barefoot Roses!
So many choices...traditional I'd pick Christmas classics and modern I'd puck apple of my eye rolle polle.
