Designer Tidbits: Lynette Anderson

The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Lynette Anderson to the Jolly Jabber. Lynette's latest fabric collection is Happy Halloween and Christmas Fun from Lecien Fabrics. Today she will talk about her spooky Halloween collection, but don't forget to check out her whimsical Christmas collection, Christmas Fun too!

Q: To what or whom would you dedicate the Happy Halloween collection?
A: I would like to dedicate this collection to Samantha from Bewitched, which was one of my favourite TV shows when I was a child.

Q: What is your favorite project using this collection?
A: I am absolutely thrilled with my Spooky House Table Centrepiece; it looks fantastic on the table and really sets a Halloween feel in the whole room.

Q: If time travel became possible, what year would you want to be in?
A: I would want to go back to 1976 when I was offered a job at Longleat House (UK) looking after the giraffes, zebras, lions and camels at the Safari Adventure theme park. Who knows, it could have led to a whole different career!

Q: If you had to change your first name what would you change it to?
A: Pamela....then I would be Pamela Anderson and have a great figure!

Q: What was your favorite childhood TV show?
A: My parents had the first TV in our village; we watched the news and were allowed to choose one program a week to watch!! I loved Bewitched and The Monkeys.

Q: Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
A: Gosh, that's a hard oneā€¦ Jinny Beyer comes to mind as she is an icon in the quilting world. When I first started doing patchwork and quilting in 1981 there were no fabrics specifically for patchwork until Jinny Beyer started producing fabrics.

Q: What is your favorite App to play on your phone?
A: I don't use my phone a great deal other than to make calls. My husband on the other hand has every App there is!

Q: If you could marry a technology, what would it be?
A: My computer as I don't think I can imagine my life without it. I love that it has made the world smaller, I love that I can 'talk' to my friends around the globe and get instant replies. It makes me feel very connected. Working from a home studio can make you feel very isolated, but with computer technology I have friends at the tips of my fingers... anytime I want!
