Blogger's Choice: Elizabeth Hartman

Elizabeth Hartman of the popular modern quilting blog, Oh Fransson, has selected twelve prints and three coordinating solids from Fat Quarter Shop to bring you an exclusive Blogger's Choice Fat Quarter Bundle! Elizabeth is here today to tell you a bit about her blogger approved bundle!

I love the new Camp Modern collection from Birch Fabrics and used several prints from it to build my winter-inspired Blogger's Choice Fat Quarter Bundle. It includes three of the fabulous faux bois prints, plus a few more (including bears!) from Camp Modern. I’ve also pulled in some tiny deer and other coordinates with pops of orange and bright green. I feel like the orange in particular is a little unusual for winter, but I love having it in the mix.

I took my bundle with me to a sewing weekend with friends, planning to make a wintery quilt, but not yet sure how I was going to go about it. What I ended up with is a stylized interpretation of the trees and mountains surrounding the house where we were staying.

We ended up getting snowed in for an extra night, which allowed me to finish the entire quilt top.

And, we even got to see some real deer on the drive home!

Hot Seat:
1. jelly roll or layer cake
2. planned or scrappy
3. prints or solids
