APQ's Tone it Down Quilt

Are you ready for the big finale? Kimberly's Tone it Down quilt from the February 2014 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting is back from the quilter and ready to be loved. We have had so much fun sewing in the #APQQuiltAlong with all of our fellow quilters, and now have a big, bright, perfectly "planned-scrappy" quilt to show for it!

What do you think of our version of the Tone it Down quilt? Kimberly used her "planned-scrappy" technique, working to create a scrappy look with an organized feel. The big blocks alternate colors, and we really love the effect!

Are you sewing the Tone it Down quilt too? Be sure to post photos to the APQQuiltAlong Flickr Group. We love seeing the variations of this quilt. There are scrappy blocks, planned blocks, and everything in between. This quilt is really easy to personalize, and you can really tell by looking at these photos.

Kimberly's quilt features the Wishes collection by Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics. The small scale prints are perfect for the little pieces in the Tone it Down blocks.

Thank you for joining us in the #APQQuiltAlong featuring Lissa Alexander's Tone it Down quilt. We loved sewing it and hope you loved having a look at the process. Browse our previous Quilt Along posts and get started on your very own version. How will you make it your own?
P.S. more versions from ModaLissa, Camille Roskelley, A Quilting Life, Amy's Creative Side, Bunny Hill, Quilt Jane, Primitive Gatherings and Miss Rosie's. Go tell them how much you love their Tone it Down quilts!
