Summer 2014 issue of Easy Quilts! Looking at it brings a huge smile to my face. It’s the fabric (Lottie Da by Heather Bailey) and the ikat-inspired blocks, plus the fact that they are made from stripsets to simplify the piecing. It’s understated but so fresh, with colorful ikats punctuated with speckled plus-sign corners.
And as a bonus, Easy Quilts has assembly instructions for three different sizes, so you can even make it for a twin or queen bed. If you make this quilt, please share! I’d love to see your version! If you like this one, Fons & Porter has Ikat Quilt Kits available, so click over to pick one up!
Easy Quilts issue. I’m always inspired by vintage quilts at shows and museums, and this was no exception. I took a really fun block I had seen (not sure of the name, anyone know?) and put it in V & Co fabrics to make this amazing combo. Quilts are so timeless, and I think this is a perfect example. Petite little cornerstones add a modern flair to the quilt, and altogether the quilt makes a huge lap quilt.
Old & New Quilt Kits are available at the Fons & Porter website, so if you love my bright modern version, you can find them there!
