We are so excited that our new “Weeds” collection has
finally shipped and can’t wait to tell you all about it!
This collection comes on the heels of another successful
collection called “Shades of Black”. It has been so well received that we just
had to do another group with the same black and gray color palette. This time with “Weeds”, we decided to change things up a bit
and add a punch of red to the mix and more flowers! Seems we can’t help
ourselves changing things up from time to time.
Lots of people have asked how we came up with the name
weeds. In fact several of you have even asked if I was perhaps making a
reference to my 70’s teenage past. The answer to that question is … NO!
The name actually came about quite easily. We normally work
in a brighter palette and one day it just popped into my mind. What’s the
opposite of a bright and cheerful bouquet of flowers? Well it’s a bouquet of
weeds of course!
Our whimsical style is still evident throughout the
collection. In fact an antique tablecloth inspired one of my favorite pieces in
the collection.
I have a small collection and have always liked collecting
large chunks of fabric in any form. I love buying sheets, blankets, quilts and
fabric too!
We have a new pattern called “Poison Ivy” that goes with the
collection.
These fun flowerpots don’t require any paper piecing or
templates. Our quick and easy piecing instructions with diagrams will walk you
though the entire process.
There is also a free pattern with this collection called “GroundCover”.
My backyard is currently covered in a weeds ground cover.
The free “Ground Cover” pattern is available on our website
and is made using a layer cake. Be sure to stop by and check out our easy
technique for making this quilt.
We hope you enjoy “Weeds” as much as we do. Make your own
personal garden!
Thanks!
