Hey there everyone, Sarah here! I just wanted to share my
recent quilting project with everyone. For the last few months I’ve been
working on a baby quilt for my soon to be nephew Lucas.
I didn't really follow a pattern, but I knew I wanted the
quilt to have a herringbone look. So with a little help from Pinterest I came
up with this quilt. My quilt finishes at 36” x 42” – just the right size for a
little crib quilt. To add some fun to this quilt I colored some of the blocks so
they form the letter L for little baby Lucas, of course! Each block is made
from: one white 3 1/2” square, one 3 7/8” white square, one 3 7/8” color square
and one color 3 1/2” square.
My quilt used a bunch of half-square triangles, so I made them two at a time using Method #2 in this
video. This
squaring-up tip came in handy to keep my quilt from getting wonky with all of my half-square triangle units.
For fabric, here are the solids that I chose to work with:
If you're thinking about making your own quilt, we have this
Houndstooth pattern by V and Co as well!
Thanks for letting me share my latest quilting project with
you all today. Happy sewing everyone!
