Hey there everyone, Sarah here! I just wanted to share my
recent quilting project with everyone. For the last few months I’ve been
working on a baby quilt for my soon to be nephew Lucas.
I didn't really follow a pattern, but I knew I wanted the
quilt to have a herringbone look. So with a little help from Pinterest I came
up with this quilt. My quilt finishes at 36” x 42” – just the right size for a
little crib quilt. To add some fun to this quilt I colored some of the blocks so
they form the letter L for little baby Lucas, of course! Each block is made
from: one white 3 1/2” square, one 3 7/8” white square, one 3 7/8” color square
and one color 3 1/2” square.
My quilt used a bunch of half-square triangles, so I made them two at a time using Method #2 in this video. This squaring-up tip came in handy to keep my quilt from getting wonky with all of my half-square triangle units.
For fabric, here are the solids that I chose to work with:

Thanks for letting me share my latest quilting project with
you all today. Happy sewing everyone!

You should totally make up a pattern to sell of this quilt, I would buy it. I love the colors you chose for your quilt. Perfect little baby quilt.

ReplyDeleteGreat little quilt! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. Partly because my oldest son is named Lucas, and partly because it's so simple in it's design. Just gorgeous.
