Star Crossed Sew Along!

Greetings fellow quilters! We are so excited to introduce a new It's Sew Emma pattern to you today called Star Crossed! This quilt was inspired by a vintage quilt we found at Quilt Festival a few years ago at the booth of one of our favorite antique mainstays, Cindy's Antique Quilts

We simplified the blocks and added the It's Sew Emma "touch," to make it our own.

We sewed up our version using the Joyeux Noel collection by French General for Moda  Fabrics to create the classic red and white quilt we all love.

Thinking about making this simple quilt into something a little more scrappy?

Following the cutting instructions for one block in the Star Crossed pattern, cut out the pieces from fabrics of your choice to mix up in your scrappy Star Crossed blocks. In the block below, the outside of the star is scrappy and the inside is one fabric. You could also reverse this or make both parts scrappy as a variation.
Keep it scrappy and clean by pairing two fabrics for the inside and outside, like the bottom two blocks. From one half-yard, you can cut the pieces for the inside and outside part of the star block.
(2) Half-yards = 2 blocks
(3) Half-yards = 3 blocks
And so on!
Since this quilt is so versatile, we decided to invite some of our favorite bloggers to sew their own version of Star Crossed. Visit their blogs for some amazing inspiration and ideas on how you can make these blocks your own. If you would like to join us, use #starcrossedsewalong on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
