FQS Big Blocks from the My Secret Garden Sew Along: Japanese Tea Garden

Pat Sloan is busy and creative quilter, and we love the fun Sew Alongs she puts together.  In fact, we can seldom resist participating, which is why three of our FQS staff members are currently sewing along with her Big Block of the Month: My Secret Garden. Kimberly, Codi and Nova have taken on the challenge to create these big, beautiful blocks.

The current block? Japanese Tea Garden, which was inspired by Pat's love of Japanese Tea Gardens that dates back to her childhood.  Not only are the garden lovely, but they inspire beautiful quilt blocks, too!

Let's visit the FQS Japanese Tea Garden blocks, starting with Kimberly.

Kimberly created this block using the Calico Days fabric line by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Fabrics.

Codi created her block using the Hometown Girl Prints fabric line by Pat Sloan for Moda Fabrics.

Nova created this block using the Bread n' Butter fabric line by American Jane for Moda Fabrics.

It's so fun to see how the different fabric lines and fabric placements make such a big difference the finished block. We'll be sharing the Secret Garden Blocks monthly, so be sure to subscribe to the blog so you can follow along.  If you're also sewing along, we hope you'll share your blocks with us via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!

Happy Quilting!
