Spring Quilt Market 2016: Friday

Today was full of fabric, quilty friends, and fun!  We had the best time visiting vendor booths, seeing their gorgeous new fabric collections and project samples, and chatting with the super talented designers.  We met up with "old friends" and made new ones - such fun! We also got our hands on two more brand new fabric bundles for today's giveaway.

We started off the day at Camp Moda, and snapped a fun picture of the owner of
Moda, Mark Dunn, with his son Josh  - and Katy Perry!

Lissa Alexander, aka Moda Lissa, wasn't able to make it to Spring Market this year in person,
so we had all the Moda designers pose with "her".  We all miss you, Lissa!

This lovely quilt by Minick & Simpson is called Portage Lake, reserve your kit today!

Our talented and inspiring partner in the Crossroads Quilt Along fundraiser,
Joanna Figueroa, has a new collection out - Chestnut Street!

The newest collection by mother/daughter team Bonnie & Camille is
called Handmade. We can't wait to start quilting and sewing with it!

Pat Sloan is here at Spring Market, and we love her Hometown Girl collection. It's available now!

Edyta Sitar's fabric collection Pumpkin Pie is delicious!

Corey Yoder's new fabric collection, Sundrops, is delightful!

Another talented mother/daughter duo: Sherri & Chelsi!
This beautiful collection is called Desert Bloom.

Lori Holt and Kimberly are all smiles in Lori's Riley Blake booth!

We love the décor in Lori's booth, and her quilts are sew cute!

Have you gotten your copy of Elea Lutz' book Pretty Playtime, published with us at It's Sew Emma?
We also have quilt kits available, and just started a quilt along on our blog for the Garden Fairy Sampler Quilt on the right in the photo above. Join us on Monday for the next post!

Amy Sinibaldi's new fabric collection Playground is bright, playful and fun!

Katarina Roccella has created the most darling collection for Art Gallery Fabrics: Pandalicious!

We love this collection - Nightfall - by Maureen Cracknell. It's enchanting!

Look at Tula Pink's booth promoting her Slow & Steady collection - fabulous!
We really love her new Ultimate Thread Collection, and it's on our Coming Soon page!

  1. Love all the pictures from Market. I think you should include buttons and thread. Maybe in a little collectible tin.

  2. I don't know what you've included in the sampler boxes before but I'd love thread samples, fabric samples from various manufacturers (either different ones each month or several per month, or maybe samples of solids), hand quilting needles. I think sampler boxes might be hard because quilters are so individual -- hand quilters, machine quilters, modern, scrappy, primitive, Civil War quilters, etc. A sample box is a great idea, though.

  3. I would love to try out those alphabitties with the numbers and letters on them, a mini quilt pattern and some of those cute clips in an outrageously fun color! And I have never even seen what washi tape looks like!

  4. Mini charm packs ( love them ) and Aurifil thread to match!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Novelty pins, pin cushions and fun tape measures would be a great addition.

  6. Although it wouldn't be exciting (unless it's part of the Tula Pink hardware line), a seam ripper would be useful. A cute pair of thread snippers or small scissors would be good too. Maybe throw in some jumbo wonder clips? Thanks for posting so many Quilt Market photos. It's a great way for those of us not in the industry to live vicariously and dream about all the stunning new fabric! Thanks too for the giveaway. bwwedprep(at)yahoo(dot)com

  7. A sew sampler subscription box could include a free pattern page for using a range of pre-cuts such as charm squares, a tool such as a template to give you perfect flying geese or a sample of your favourite applique paper as there is now different thicknesses available. (Not everyone lives close to a shop to see what is out there - I do a lot of looking online to find out what is new.)
Thanks for the opportunity to take part in your competition.

    ReplyDelete
  62. You're doing a great job filling your sampler box on your own, but if you need more ideas why not ask your quilt designer friends to share some of their favorite product ideas with you. I know the May box has Lori's buttons so you could have made it all things Lori! (And maybe you did).

    ReplyDelete
  124. I don't think anyone would complain about thread samples of different weight. But including a charm pack and a small template with a pattern is always fun to receive. I like to embellish my quilts with appliqués and embroidery so some ideas on that would work well.

It will be fun to see what you come up with!
