Greetings from Spring Quilt Market 2016! We're coming to you from Salt Lake City, Utah, and have so many wonderful things to share with you - including today's Schoolhouse and Sample Spree, and a giveaway for two brand new fabric bundles from Moda Fabrics! Woohoo!
Here's our Fat Quarter Shop team - ready to take on Spring Market 2016 Schoolhouse!
Schoolhouse, informational sessions to reveal new products and fabric collections, took place today at the Convention Center, and FQS was front and center. Not only did we attend several Schoolhouse sessions to bring you the inside scoop, we also participated in a few sessions!
Moda had several fun sessions during the day, and introduced the Moda Neighborhood - you'll be hearing lots more about this fun block program in the weeks and months to come!
Big news from Cotton + Steel in the first Schoolhouse session of the day: Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co. has designed a fabric collection for them - Les Fleurs!

Sew exciting, our first time to present at Schoolhouse!! Kimberly presented the First Blush fabric and BOM quilt at the Windham Schoolhouse!
Kimberly shows how easy it is to make the fabulous blocks in the First Blush Quilt using the new Creative Grids Starburst 30° Ruler, designed by yours truly!
Kimberly shows off one of the quilts made with First Blush fabric and the Starburst Ruler - the pattern is call Kite Tails, and it is an upcoming Cut Loose Press pattern!
Tula Pink revealed the Ultimate Thread Collection today, and FQS will be one of the first to offer this collection! Yeah #tulatroops!
Tula also revealed her new fabric collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics, Slow and Steady! And like Chipper, she's got a whole story behind it.
Kimberly also introduced the amazing Lori Holt in her Schoolhouse session! Seeing her at Quilt Market was extra, extra, extra special.
Lori's new buttons are literally as cute as a button!

Those people who got to wait in that big old line were so lucky!!! I would gladly wait in a long line to be able to get my hands on all those gorgeous samples of fabric! You must be having a wonderful time at Quilt Market!!!

I love to see all the new fabric lines made into quilts--it helps me envision them "on the big screen", in play in our home or made into quilts for our friends, so I have a better idea which ones I'm really looking forward to.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing new fabric lines and what patterns you come up with for a quilt along. I am doing the crossroads quilt along now and love that I am being challenged by it's size. I chose a different color palette because I was trying to use from my stash. Am so excited to see my finished project. Thanks for the great how to videos. Have fun!!

ReplyDeleteI loved the overview of Spring Market today. Lots of gorgeous quilts, many smiling faces and new projects were seen. It's fun to see all the mother/daughter teams. I'm hoping to catch more information about Chestnut from Joanna Figueroa, a designer I've met in the past. Thanks for a chance in the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI especially love Pam Budda's quilt. I am going on a cruise and I leave tomorrow. I don't live far from SLC, and I would of loved to come to Quilt Market, if they would of let me in. Everything you showed was lovely. I wish I could make it all. It would be great to win something. I have so much to make, but can always find time to make more.
