Deck-ade the Halls Quilt-Along

Follow along with us on our Deck-ade the Halls Quilt Along!

We are celebrating 10 years of Fat Quarter Shop with 10 blocks and 10 fabrics! Quilt along with us to make an unforgettable holiday quilt.

Our Quilt Along downloads include a color card, instructions for the nine sections, and end with finishing instructions to complete the quilt. We are posting a new download every two weeks from May 13th through September 16th, so you will have plenty of time to have it quilted and done by December.

Our quilt features the Aspen Frost collection from BasicGrey for Moda Fabrics. We encourage you to use any fabrics you choose. If you would like to make one from Aspen Frost, we have kits and backings available. We do expect these to sell out fast!

Be sure to watch our Deck-ade YouTube videos for a more details on our quilt, and post your blocks on our Flickr page!

Would any of the pre-cuts be good to use for this quilt as opposed to yardage?

corinne said...

So glad to see everyone excited about the quilt! Unfortunately, there are not any easy pre-cuts to substitute for yardage!

Happy sewing! And be sure to post photos of your blocks to Flickr!

Thank you so much for making it possible for everyone to enjoy this pattern free. Though I'm shy on Christmas fabrics, I'm going to try to put something together that will look festive and fun. Thanks again, Hugs...

Hi! I'm just wondering if this pattern is compatible with layer cake size cuts? (Specifically if there are pieces in the tree, wreath, or present blocks that are larger than 10"?) Please let me know! Thanks so much!

I have loved the Deck-ade the Halls series. The only problem I have had is that I can't get into UTube to watch the tutorial for the Finishing pattern. It keeps saying that it's private. I have never been sent to UTube to watch a tutorial before. Did I do something wrong?

Thank you for this quilt-along. I just have to put it all together. I made the whole thing out of my stash and must say it looks good!

I have the first two blocks done and am enjoying the piecing. Great directions. I am using Thimbleberries Christmas Naturals as it is more my colour preference. It looks great and is fun. Thanks for the pattern.

I love this pattern and had gotten all the fabrics started it, but I didn't get all the patterns and now I can't find the downloads. Can you help?

peg said...

I've downloaded all the blocks but could never print out the finishing instructions. Went back to try again today but the page isn't there. Only able to get the video and I'm nowhere near being finished. Is there another page I could print out?

Anonymous said...

Peg just read your comment about the finishing instructions. I have clicked on the picture, above the link for the tutorial, for block 10 which is the finishing instructions & have saved them to my documents. All looks good to me. Diane

I am working on the gingerbread men, and am having an issue with directionality of the snowmen for the leg/foot. One comes out right but the other sideways. Is there a way around this other than cutting another piece? Thanks! It's so cute I'm making one for each of 3 of my daughters!

Fat Quarter Shop said...

Hi Melissa! According to the pattern, you don’t make the feet identically. The two rectangles should face the same direction (snowmen going up) as you put on the white Fabric F and J squares. On the left foot, you put the two white triangles on the left side, and on the right foot you place them on the right side. So the two feet have the print going the same way.
If your rectangles are cut the same direction and she has assembled both feet correctly, neither should be sideways! Hope that helps!
