ReplyDeleteFall is phenomenal. The last of the heat and stickiness is behind us as we leave a wilted and burned summer to move into cool, crisp and fresh autumn days. Cicada droning gives way to squirrel chatter as the evenings grow a little longer. The tastes of fall grow richer as the harvest comes in. I love to see the change of seasons, the perpetual cycle of nature, and fall is my most favorite season of all.

My husband and I were married in the fall on Sept 27th (giveaway day!) our first child was born in the fall, the air turns cool and crisp, apples, pumpkins, and other goodies are harvested, hay is in, we can enjoy bonfires, roasting marshmallows, etc with friends! ReplyDeleteFall is a beautiful time of year here in New England - changing leaves are gorgeous. It is also bringing my gardening season to an end and an opportunity to start work on my first quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe maple trees are starting to turn those glorious fall colors. I can start cooking stews and soups in my slow cooker and start making fall quilts for presents or myself and now feel quilty about what's for dinner. I love the change of seasons and I always seem to notice big changes when fall arrives. I actually look forward to getting my gardens ready for winter, picking the last of the veggies, spading the dirt, raking leaves. I accept the change of seasons so much better than any of change in my life.

I am always astounded in the beauty of creation when the leaves begin to change color. This happens because the chlorophyll (green pigment in the leaves dies, leaving the other pigments ( in various shades of reds, oranges and yellows) to shine through. I love driving through the forests of Michigan and seeing mother natures pallette of colors.

I like how trees are changing colours, evenings are getting darker and it's fun to light a candle in a lantern outside. ReplyDeleteWe live in Florida and don't really get a 'fall', but look forward to Thanksgiving when we can open up the doors & windows. However, my daughter and I are heading to N.C. to visit my parents/grandparents for a weekend in October. Hopefully we will get to see some great fall foliage.

The beech trees are changing its colours every day, fresh apples & pears and new wine to come - that's exciting, but on the other hand - short days, rain, wind - if one could stay at home snuggled under nice quilt, that would be great, but going out, yak;)

ReplyDeleteWe always go apple picking and get our pumpkins for Halloween, too. The stores sell fresh pressed cider and apple pies ready for baking. Can't beat an afternoon in the orchard. I live in Washington State.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the colors of fall. Leaves put on a marvelous show when the weather cools. These warm yellow, orange, brown, and red hues are some of my very favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love all the smells of fall, can't think of a bad one in the bunch. I tend to burn more candles this time of year and it is time to cozy up the house and make it feel warm and inviting. Thanks for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI love fall because the humidity that the south is so well known for decreases and you can sit on the front porch again in comfort. Also, we have a maple tree in the side yard that is gorgeous when the leaves turn color. The kids don't rake up the leaves any more and jump in them, but the memories are still there each fall when I see the leaves on the ground.

ReplyDeleteI'm very excited for fall because it means cooler temperatures, comfort food & most of all the beginning of training for our sled dogs. Lots of hours & miles on trails together with my dogs! Fall also means that winter is just around the corner!

Hurray for the chance to win a layer cake! I would love to win. :) My favorite thing about fall is the pumpkins becoming available at the stores. Pumpkin bread, pies, muffins, drinks, and some many other new recipes to try! Between the pumpkin availability, my birthday, and my anniversary, it's my favorite time of year!
