For the modern version - hmmm... tougher to narrow down! I think I would use Ripple Salt Water by Tula Pink. I was also tempted by Meg Hawkey's Blotted Inkwell and Parson Gray's Babylon Seven Wonders.

For a modern, I'd pick one of the "All Hands on Deck", and make a cute kid-quilt ... For a (slightly) more traditional feel, I might choose batiks, like the "Totally Tropical Batiks" (Does that count as traditional enough?!) :-)
