After Spring Quilt Market in Portland, our heads have been buzzing with the great stuff we saw. In particular, the new Block of the Month programs have us so anxious to begin! Today, Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs is here to tell us more about her new Block of the Month, A Woodland Christmas, which will run from November 2013 to August 2014! Don't forget to sign up today to reserve your spot!
I’ve been wanting to design A Woodland Christmas forever. Those animals have just been waiting to make an appearance. So many times, as we drive through the country, I’ve seen quaint little towns from the highway and wanted to stop. A Woodland Christmas is about one of those little towns and the animals that live in the surrounding woods.
The critters have gotten together this Christmas and planned a surprise for the townspeople. As the townspeople sleep snug in their beds, the animals are working away. They’re decorating the town for Christmas! When the townspeople awake, it will be a magical Christmas to behold!
When I saw the new Three Sisters fabric line, Vin du Jour, I knew it would be perfect for this quilt. The colors are earthy, with a touch of elegance. I mixed in some French General Favorites to bring in the reds, for the perfect combination. I hope that the colors in A Woodland Christmas appeal to all of you.
I’ve also added pre-printed templates that you can purchase separately, for this block of the month. I’ve had the drawings for the quilt pre-printed on a heavy weight freezer paper, ready to cut out and use for appliqué. The pieces are numbered to match the blocks so you’ll know where each piece goes. It will save you so much time! Just think, open the package of templates, cut them out and iron to your fabric! No more tracing.
A Woodland Christmas is ten months of applique fun. Hang this quilt in your home at Christmas for your friends to enjoy. Pick out your favorite block and applique as a gift for a friend. Think of the things you can do with this pattern and you’ll be sure to have A Merry Woodland Christmas!
