I am new to quilting and I am very proud of my first few projects. I was recently inspired by my 88 year old aunts quilt made of patchwork girls (I later found was called sun bonnet sue) using fabrics from her dresses she wore as a little girl. I enjoyed the excitement in her eyes as she recalled every patch and remembered her childhood dresses. I plan on making one of these quilts and although I do not have a dress collection to use for my patches, I do so love my fabric collection and will enjoy selecting just the right ones for my special quilt. If I only have some nice thread to sew them on with........

I love the bright, cheerful colors and when I am down all I have to do is look at them and they make me smile. If I won the threads, I would use them and my fabrics to make a quilt. Maybe a Grandma's Flower Garden or a disappearing nine patch....something fun :-)

ReplyDeleteA Dresden Plate block is on my "To Make" list using some 30's fabric and if I'm successful with the first block, I have plans for a lap quilt. The colors in this Aurifil box of threads look sew inviting!! Thanks for a chance to win.
