Stranded on the Diamond Dunn!

"It was only supposed to be a three-hour tour, a three-hour touuuur..." We've been stranded, but it isn't so bad! Moda Fabrics set us up with a scenario, if you were stranded on a mysterious island full of Moda fabric, sewing machines, cutting mats, rotary cutters, electricity and food, what notions would you need? Luckily, the Moda Island might be my dream vacation. A relaxing beach, piles of Moda fabric, rotary cutters, cutting mats and sewing machines all sound like the perfect getaway! Even if we happen to be stranded.

In order to survive on the mysterious island, I definitely need to bring my go-to, can’t live without notions. My sewing space would not be complete without Mettler Thread and a Clover White Seam Ripper! Mettler thread is my very favorite, and I will need a seam ripper for the inevitable mistakes. Additionally, I would bring the Cover Wonder Clips to make binding a cinch and a Collins Vanishing Fabric Marker to keep my piecing precise.

To make my trip a bit more enjoyable, I would bring along Jace Robertson of Duck Dynasty. His humor would keep us all giggling and I think he would have fun exploring the deserted island, although he may have to find a new animal to hunt!

What can't-live-without notions would you need to survive on the mysterious island? And head to Moda...the Cutting Table to find out what everyone else would bring!

  1. In addition to the 'already must have' list mentioned, I must be comforted with my Omnigrid 6" ruler, Mundial 'duck-bill' scissors (I think the accurate name is applique scissors) and thin-point twizzors for removing the (ahem) boo-boo's. ;D Luv your Jace head!

  2. Well, first an Olfa Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mat and Omnigrid ruler, probably 6 1/2 ". Masterpiece Thread, favorite needles, various sizes (never know what you'll be working on) Ott light (battery operated I guess), some of those new Clover Wonder Clips that I'm itching to try and of course good sewing scissors and the handy, ever useful seam ripper. OH, and a few pins couldn't hurt, might get breezy out there! Hugs...
*I'm assuming it would be an island with Moda Fabric Trees Everywhere, so we would have plenty of fabric for everyone! And even though I 62 years old, I would need my soft toy Grover from Sesame Street, a gift from my daughter years ago. He always keeps me company while I sew. :o)

  3. A treadle to sew on and keep my legs excercised. My graph paper journal with colored pencils. My Marti Mitchell templates. My cut and press pad.

  4. In addition to what's been mentioned I'd bring Clover PATCHWORK pins, ThreadHeaven, Clover leather thimble, Fit to Be Quarter rulers, and the Shape Cut ruler.

  5. On my little island I would need my little light that hangs from my Bernina machine, an iced glass of Pepsi that never ran dry, some Girl Scout Shortbread cookies for munching, and my Rowenta iron. Love the 'Little House' pins also! Although I'm from Kansas, I'm a Jace fan also ... and proud to admit it.
