We sat down with Natalia once we arrived for a nice, long chat. We asked about how she began her business, her affiliation with Moda Bake Shop, her book (and upcoming book!) and we showed off many of the quilts in her studio. We just love her! She is a very talented quilter and very fun to chat with!
Next, she taught us how to make a quick and easy baby burp cloth using scraps of fabric and a cloth diaper. This project is fast and fun, and as an added bonus it makes charming, personalizable gifts for new mothers! If you decide to make this project, be sure to post it on our Facebook page for us all to see!
If you ever find yourself sending a quilt to be quilted with no idea what to request, here are some common designs and programs used by Natalia. She walked us through the process of free motion and computer programmed quilting on her Gammill Longarm Quilting Machine. Her motions are artistic and soothing. If you are feeling particularly stressed, we suggest watching this video as a way to relax!
Natalia thank you so much for sharing your studio with us and our customers. And if anyone is looking for a great quilter send a quilt to Natalia!
The winner of our Lori Holt Giveaway has been announced, so head over to find out if you won a bundle of Lori's Designer Solids.
THANKS LADIES!
