Liberty Stars featured in Love of Quilting

My second quilt has been published in Love of Quilting’s July/August 2013 issue, and it’s called Liberty’s Stars. Just in time for July 4th, but with a shabby chic spin!


Pink and aqua, my favorite color duo, get to shine in my spruced-up traditional design. I used Love & Liberty by Robyn Pandolph for RJR Fabrics, as she is one of my ultimate shabby chic idols. I love these tiny 81-patch blocks, which are made with our helpful friend the strip set! They are offset with big, lovely stars, and finished simply with a skinny inner border and wide outer border.


This becomes a large, comfy lap, or it will also fit on a full-sized bed. Will you make it for Flag Day? What do you think? Kits are available here at the Fons & Porter site!

    That is a great color combination. I love the alternate block with the stars and the diagonal line you see with the aqua!

    This is beautiful! Will have to try this out. My grand daughters would fight over it...maybe have to make 3.
