Stitch n' Flip and Four Patches with Me and My Sister Designs

Hello everyone! We have Barb and Mary of Me and My Sister Designs back on the Jolly Jabber to reveal a few of their tips and tricks when sewing.

In this video, Mary of Me and My Sister Designs show Kimberly how to use a technique called Stitch n' Flip using their upcoming fabric collection, LOL for Moda Fabrics. This technique allows you to get a bonus half-square triangle when cutting!

In our next video, Barb shows you how to make quick and easy four-patches. We love this time-saving technique to make four-patches using charm packs!

Have any sewing and quilting tips? Share them in our comments section! We'd love to hear your tricks of the trade.

  1. My tip is for those curved safety pins used for basting quilts. I learned to put them away still open so you don't have to close and open them an extra time. But they get all tangled together when they are open in the box!

I find that if I grab a tangle of 4 or 5 pins and drop them onto a hard surface from about 8 inches up that they tend to bounce away from each other. I might still end up with 2 stuck together, but 2 or 3 are ready to pick up and baste. Saves a little frustration!
