In January, we started our first every charity Quilt Along benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation, called the Wishes Quilt Along. Our goal was $20,000 and we are so thankful for all of your support! We smashed our goal with over $21,000!
2014 marks our seventh annual exclusive Designer Mystery Block of the Month and this year, we used the beautiful Snowbird collection by Edyta of Laundry Basket Quilts.
Somewhere during the business of quilt designing and running FQS, we launched our first ever Fat Quarter Shop Sew What T-shirts! These shirts come in Kimberly's (and Fat Quarter Shop's) favorite color - pink! We also came up with Alphabitties and collaborated with me and My Sister Designs to create Makin' It Cutes!
Of course we wouldn't be Fat Quarter Shop without hosting giveaways! The MEGA QUILT MARKET Sweepstakes, was our biggest giveaway ever with a total value of $6,300 in prizes.
All through September, we celebrated our most favorite month, National Sewing and Quilting Month! Over 37 different bloggers participated in our celebration by challenging themselves with projects that they had never made before.
In 2014, our FQS studio was packed with quilting celebrity guests and friends and boy, did we have lots and lots of fun!
One of the most unforgettable moments is when we launched our very own PRECUT using Moda Fabrics called Jolly Bars. Our Jolly Bar precut is 5" x 10" and each Jolly Bar comes with an exclusive pattern!
Our pattern and publishing company, It's Sew Emma, published three amazing books this year as well! We had the opportunity to work with Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet for Great Granny Squared and Gerri Robinson of Planted Seed Designs for Quilted Living. Also the sequel to out Simply Fat Quarters Book, Fat Quarter Style!
Kimberly and the Fat Quarter Shop team attended our first book signings at Quilt Market and Quilt Festival this year too!
