Snapshots Quilt Along: Let Them Eat Cake Block

Welcome to the Snapshots Quilt Along benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! It's a new year, and we CHALLENGE you to sew with us each month and contribute $5 to out St. Jude fundraiser for the use of the free pattern. Are you ready?

We are thrilled to have you join us for this amazing cause. We are introducing our first block, Let Them Eat Cake
Each Snapshots block will tell a different story for everyone, and we're sharing our own personal memories and moments with you! Did you know that Bonnie & Camille share the same birthday? Watch our Block 1 video to hear more from them.

Download the pattern and watch our video for Bonnie & Camille's cake story and Kimberly's piecing tutorial.

If you want to sew along with us, we have kits & backing sets available using the Daysail collection by Bonnie & Camille. You can also download our Fabric Requirements PDF and use fabrics from your stash!

Don't forget to join our Snapshots Facebook group and share your finished block with #fqssnapshots! Tune in February 15th for our next block, Sew On & Sew On!

  1. I ordered the Snapshots' kit (and realize I have to wait a little longer). My question: when we ordered the Snapshot kit, will a donation be made to St. Jude's or should I do that separate?

  5. @GabiP Hi! The quilt kits and donations are separate. However, We and Moda Fabrics will match up to $10,000 of all donations made with St. Judes.

  7. I just clicked on both video links and they both go to the Intro video rather than the Block 1 video. I found the Block 1 video on your YouTube channel, but wanted to mention about the links. Thank you so much for posting videos for each block -- I found last year's QAL videos very helpful, and am looking forward to following along this year!

  8. I have ordered the kit, but don't understand why we have to wait until February for it when the first pattern is posted now. Won't that make us a month behind?

  9. @Sandy hi Sandy! In your quilt kit, you will receive pattern and 1 and pattern 2, so you will be ahead of everyone else! Moda Fabrics is printing Daysail as fast as they can so that you can get your fabrics soon!

  16. WOW! What a great idea. Our son is 14 years old and has been a patient of St.Jude since he was 5. Thank you so very much for supporting them. I could go on forever about how much they really help the children and their families. But right now it's all about each one of you....Thank you for helping these kids. You really are helping miracles to happen.

  17. What an adorable pattern and fabulous idea to make St. Judes the benefactor of your free pattern via a charity donation. I just made my payment to St. Judes and look forward to the patterns each month. This will make this quilt just a bit more special knowing I made a contribution to helping the kids.
