Irish Chain Quilt Along!

Good morning, and welcome to my (Jocelyn's) post for Melissa Corry's Irish Chain Quilts Blog Hop! I'm thrilled to be involved, especially because Melissa's book is wonderful and she is wonderful. She's not kidding around with the title "Happy Quilting" - happy describes how she makes us all feel.

The quilt block I made for Melissa's Irish Chain Charity Quilt is the Charm Bracelet. I don't know if it's the fun wonkiness or her fabric choice (Heather Bailey's True Colors!) that caught my eye, but that's the one I had my heart set on. So here's my block! My own little twist on it was the added wonky four-patch center. In for a penny, in for a pound, am I right?
Charm Bracelet worked perfectly for me because of my skill level (10 quilts and under) and because you can't immediately figure it out which I love. I'm not always a fan of wonkiness, but it's a clean, balanced wonky, if that makes sense. The instructions are clear and simple, and all you need to be able to do skill-wise is sew up a nice little nine-patch! And it gets really fun once you start slicing away. It's a great quilt for someone who wants to try something just a little different!

Melissa was gracious enough to sign a copy of Irish Chain Quilts for us to give away on the Jolly Jabber. For a chance to win, all you need to do is post a comment on our blog letting us know if you've made an Irish Chain quilt before.

Visit Melissa's blog for a chance to win the GRAND PRIZE

Thank you so much for joining me and happy quilting!

  174. In the last 4 days I have made 2 of Melissa's String of Pearls quilts. Soooo easy and beautiful. I did the reverse colorway each time so the 'pearls' really pop.
And since I am an O'BRIEN O'HEARN DUGGAN DUFFY FOX CALINA DEMPSEY kind of colleen, I love making Irish Chains. Her book is fab.
